This group of carefully selected Church leaders provides
insights, vision, and counsel to the Directors about various aspects of the
program and courses of the College. The Committee members also serve as
advocates of the College for Bishops by promoting the program and course
offerings as well as supporting efforts to further stabilize the organization.

The Rt rev'd f. clayton matthews, convener
Clay is the Bishop for the Office of Pastoral Development and Managing Director of the College for Bishops. Bishop Matthews was ordained in 1973 and consecrated as Bishop Suffragan in the Diocese of Virginia in 1993 after having served as Canon to the Ordinary for 8 years. He served previously in Atlanta as a school chaplain, in North Carolina as an assistant and in Virginia as rector of a church. He received his B.A. from Hampton Sydney College, his M. Div. from Virginia Theological Seminary and his D.D. from Virginia Theological Seminary. |

Ian is the Angus Dun Professor of Mission and World Christianity at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A mission activist and scholar, he is a member of the Executive Council, the priest Member of the Anglican Consultative Council for The Episcopal Church, and a member of the Design Group for the 2008 Lambeth Conference of Anglican Bishops. |

The Rt Rev'd Don E. Johnson
Bishop Johnson has been the Bishop of The Diocese of West Tennessee since 2001. He received his BA from Vanderbilt University and his M. Div. from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary. He was ordained to the diaconate in 1976 and the priesthood in 1977. As a deacon, he served at St. Paul’s, Memphis. After his ordination to the priesthood, he served as Priest-in-charge at Calvary, Memphis; as Rector of Christ Church, Chattanooga; as Rector of St. John’s, Johnson City; and as Rector of Church of the Resurrection, Franklin. Bishop Johnson currently serves as a Peer Coach for The College for Bishops. |

Bishop Knudsen was elected Bishop of Maine in November 1997. A former scientist, she has training in family systems, ministry formation and international mission work. Bishop Knudsen lives in Bath, Maine, where she plays golf and enjoys theatre and symphony performances.

The Rt Rev'd Henry Nutt Parsley Jr. is the Bishop of Alabama. He was consecrated in 1996, having previously served as Rector of Christ Church, Charlotte, NC and in parishes in South Carolina. He received his BA from the University of the South, Sewanee in 1970 and his MDiv from the General Theological Seminary in 1973. He serves as Chancellor of the University of the South and as Chair of the Theology Committee of the House of Bishops.Bishop Parsley currently serves as a Peer Coach for The College for Bishops. |

Donald Romanik is President of the Episcopal Church Foundation. He has served as Chairperson of the Parish Committee of Christ Church Cathedral in Hartford, Connecticut, Senior Warden at Church of the Good Shepherd in Hartford, and Chairperson of the Spanish Language Ministries Committee for the Diocese of Connecticut. |

Victor is the assistant bishop of the Diocese of Chicago. A native of Panama, he was ordained in 1974 and served there as priest-in-charge of St. John Villa Caceres, rector of St. Paul, Panama City, and bishop suffragan. He came to the United States as assisting bishop in the Diocese of Mississippi and rector of St. Mark and St. Christopher, Jackson. He received his B.A. from the University of Panama and M. Div. from the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Caribbean. |

dr. timothy f. sedgwick
Tim is the Clinton S. Quin Professor of Christian Ethics at Virginia Theological Seminary. He taught at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary following the completion of a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University and teaching undergraduates for three years. His publications include The Christian Moral Life, The Making of Ministry, Sacramental Ethics, and just published with David Schlafer, Preaching What We Practice: Proclamation and Moral Discernment (Morehouse, 2007). |

The Rt Rev'd Dean E. Wolfe
Dean E. Wolfe has been Bishop of Kansas since Jan. 1, 2004. He previously served at St. Michael and All Angels, Dallas, and Trinity Copley Square, Boston. He was ordained a priest in 1992 after graduating from Virginia Theological Seminary. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from Miami University of Ohio, and VTS awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2004. |
